It begins with a maker’s time
Layers of LeRoi begins with Leroy, the maker behind the pieces. His name inspired LeRoi, an echo of the French word for king. Layers speaks to the skill that grows through practice, revision, and time. In our Vancouver studio, that accumulated care shapes each design.
Refined through making
Every design develops through drawings and samples. We revisit the proportions and refine the details until the piece meets our standard. That work considers the moments you will experience every day: how the cover feels in your hand, how it opens, and how its parts come together.
Chosen for its role
Each leather is selected for the work it needs to do. In our A5 Togo journal cover, Perlinger Alpin Calf provides a supple, softly grained exterior. Inside, Conceria Walpier vegetable-tanned panels provide structure and support. The pairing brings different qualities to the same piece.
Before it leaves our studio
A finished piece that falls short of our standard does not leave our Vancouver studio. Subtle differences in grain and tone are part of natural leather’s character. They do not change the care we give to construction and finish.

You choose the format and personal details that fit the way you write. Then come the pages, plans, and ideas you make room for. As those ideas develop, your journal becomes a place to return to, revise, and begin again.
