Some things become familiar through use. A journal opens to the page you need. A bag carries the same small essentials, day after day. Notes gather, corners soften, and an object begins to hold a little of your life.
The LeRoi Paper — Pocket Edition 01 begins with these ordinary moments. We made this small folded paper to share a few thoughts behind our work, and to say thank you for making it part of your days.
On the cover, a hand holds a journal. Inside, there is room for a simple idea:
“What you carry becomes part of you.”
The things we reach for often collect more than what we put inside them. They become tied to a routine, a place, or something we wanted to remember.
The journal illustration is an invitation to begin wherever you are. Write a list. Keep a thought before it disappears. Leave a page unfinished and come back to it. As the paper says, “Perfection is not required.” A journal can make room for the day as it happened.
For this first issue, we also kept a scene from outside our Vancouver studio: a cherry tree in bloom, with a bench beneath it. It is a brief moment held on paper—a reminder of how much there is to notice close to home.
We hope you will take a moment to unfold the card, read a few lines, and linger over the illustrations. It is a small way of sharing what we notice and what matters to us when we make things.
Thank you for letting our work be part of your days.
